Steve Barefoot
Steve Barefoot
Steve Barefoot is an office and field support professional who wears many hats. Since joining Hanco in 2017, his responsibilities have grown to include being the first contact for payroll distribution, contractual and insurance documentation, project billing, coordinating bidding with estimators, attending bid openings, and various other tasks. By keeping documentation current and supporting the office manager and PMs, Steve ensures they have everything needed to make projects successful, delivering buildings that owners are proud of.
Steve values organization and aims to get things right the first time, learning from mistakes to avoid repetition. He is a high school graduate with two years of junior college education. His background includes running a small business related to auto repairs and steel fabrication from 1987 to 2004, then transitioning to the construction industry as a superintendent, project manager, and office duties.
Steve says the most rewarding aspect of working for Hanco is its shared commitment to integrity, honesty, and value in its personal and professional relationships. Outside of work, Steve enjoys hunting, fishing, outdoor activities, grilling, smoking, cooking, and working on his farm. He also shares that he’s been married for six years to a hardworking woman who keeps him busy. Steve has six children (four girls and two boys) and will soon become a grandfather. The Barefoots also have two spoiled Rottweilers and an assortment of chickens, ducks, peacocks, and guineas.
